Anilox rollers (Glossary of Printed Electronic terms)
Anilox rollers provide ink metering by means of cell patterns that are typically made on the roller using laser etching of ceramic. They have a raised pattern such as a honeycomb that traps ink that may be scraped by a doctor blade before transfer to another roll for application in flexography and other raised medium printing processes. Anilox rollers may vary in design as they can be used in: flexographic printing, dyeing, priming, coating, lacquering, application of glue or adhesives etc.
